Landscaping, Walls & Site Work in Rothschild and Schofield
Rothschild and Schofield run right along the Wisconsin and Eau Claire rivers, which means sloped lots, older homes and yards that move water in a hurry. We build the walls, patios, grading and drainage that hold those yards together — and we tear out and haul away whatever is in the way first.

Why so many walls get built here
Between the river bluffs and the older street grid, plenty of Rothschild and Schofield yards drop several feet from the house to the property line. When that slope is left alone it erodes, and the mulch, rock and topsoil end up at the bottom every spring. A properly based retaining wall with drainage stone and fabric behind it turns that slope into usable, level yard.
The walls we get called to replace are almost always ones built without a compacted base or a way for water to escape. We dig to solid ground, compact in lifts, drain behind the block, and backfill so the wall is not fighting saturated soil every thaw.
